This woule be so much easier if I saw the controller so I can see when he's doing everything cuz I don't really know what to do xD

Drifting on controller is so much easier then drifting with a steering wheel

Hey TomCat, thank you for explaining this to a non-drifting driver in Forza 4. Using these tips, I have 'just' started the very very basics to drifting. I always liked watching others drift, but was kinda apprehensive. But again, thank you for this video. I have a pic of me drifting the AMC Gremlin X at the Horizon Loop... at full steer. ^^

I remember seeing your Forza Horizon 2 vids on Beginning Drifting, and I will now watch all your drifting for beginners' videos.

Cheers from a 51 year old Forza Horizon fan....

This helped out a lot! I want to drift in fh4, but it is challenging. I'm used to arcadey games like nfs, where you almost don't have to do anything to drift.

I think it would be helpful for beginners if you put the telemetry on so they would see your throttle and steering values exactly as you’re doing them

Great video, this is how I basically tell people to do it:

1. Get a car comfortable to you and go through the gears how the car responds and wheels spin.
2. Approach at an appropriate speed around 70-90 km/h.
3. Go wide before turn.
4. Tap the E-break.
5. Turn in.
6. Throttle.
7. Feel the back end, can you give more gas to bring out the back more or ease off if you feel you're about to losing it? Pump with the gas if necessary to feel the levels of control.
8. Counter steer, more counter the more you throttle it in relation to the angle of the back end.
9. Hold the line.
10. Catch it and straighten out.

It's easier to be more cautious and add little by little more aggressiveness than vice versa and find that sweet spot. Cars are different and some more forgiving than others meaning they pretty much do the work for you meaning so balanced that all you need to do is focus on the line and give some slight counter steer and the car do the rest. Around 500-655 bhp cars tends to. When you get up to around 800 bhp is when you need to work for it and eventually it doesn't matter like second nature, you push every car harder and you'll ride those sick angles like a true drifter. Getting some understanding for settings helps a lot to get the maximum potential out of the car.
