Biden surveys the aftermath of Hurricane Helene says, 'Homes were just wiped away'

President Joe Biden is in Florida and Georgia communities Thursday to survey damage from Hurricane Helene, again demonstrating his administration's concern for the lives lost and the unimaginable destruction.

His visit follows a day in the Carolinas where he saw aerial views of the unprecedented damage caused by one of the deadliest hurricanes in history that killed at least 200 people across six states.

"Homes were just wiped away," the president said during a news conference about the storm’s aftermath in Ray City, Georgia.
