Dennis Baker State Farm Scholar Artist of the Week - Alejandro Zavala

This week’s Dennis Baker State Farm Scholar Artist of the Week is Alejandro Zavala.

Alejandro is a senior at McKinney High School where he plays baritone saxophone in the Royal Pride Band, the jazz band and the pit orchestra.
He serves Head Drum Major and Band President.

Alejandro earned TMEA All-Region and All-Area twice.
He is a 3-year member of the Lone Star Youth Winds, and he was selected as a McKinney ISD Concerto Contest Finalist twice.

Alejandro currently has a 4.35 GPA, and he has taken 12 AP classes.
He is member of the National Honor Society, and he is an AP Scholar with Honor.

In his free time, Alejandro volunteers with DCI, MMI and the middle school Ensemble Contests, and he organized a canned food drive for the Samaritan Inn through the MHS Band program.

After graduation, Alejandro plans to attend college and major in Music Education.
