Kyrkjebø got her national breakthrough when she performed during the break in the Eurovision Song Contest in Bergen in 1986, and a new breakthrough when she sang "Olympia anthem" during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer in 1994.

She REALLY got to the audience on this one. And in fact the audience got to her as well. There's a huge audience here but you can hear a pin drop. Her voice is magical and it touches you like no other voice I've ever heard. I'm not the least bit Religious but this got to me regardless.
