I started working at the local bike shop so taking on another part time job… having enough to eat everyday has really been a struggle. i am a runner but ive had foot fractures since the start of the year. its taken its toll. im trying to figure out an iron man training regime since ive had to incorporate more biking and starting swimming the past few months. i take care of myself, have been since 17. ive struggled with nutrition my whole life. everything ive learned has been online so it be great to have a video on it. i have to eat gluten free and i eat a vegetarian diet.

having somebody to help with making dinner or putting gas in the car is really taken for granted… im exhausted some nights with even with things that should be easy. let alone figuring out what i need to eat to maintain muscle, have energy, and be healthy.

thank you so much for being such a big inspiration to people like me and so many others.

I’ve got a sprint triathlon in a two weeks in Oxford. I’m going for a 1:2X over quite a difficulty course. Aiming for a top 7 finish! Love to see you inspiring us all Fergus!

One nutrition thing I struggle with when hybrid training is being hungry all of the time. I eat and eat and eat and I'm still hungry, but then manage to put on 3-4kg in an 18-week marathon training block, so something isn't right with my choices.

This is great stuff. I’m going to be training for a smaller marathon myself at the end of the year (just a wee half-marathon). Bit nervous myself as I’ve not done one of these in years and am very out of practice. I’ve been using Tongkat Ali extract powder mixed into a double espresso as pre-workout to help with performance and recovery and it’s been really good for strength training / lifting. Am hoping it’ll work just as well for the cardio training. Good luck on your race!

Questions for your next video.

What are the pros and cons of doing a cut while hybrid training?

How much of a deficit do you go into?

I’ve personally found that my body weight fluctuates way more when hybrid training, as opposed to regular gym. Do you have a similar experience? It can be annoying trying to figure out if I’m making progress or not.
