Crossover types and slopes play a big part in the sound too. Butterworth has a different sound/slope than Linkwitz-Riley than Bessel. There's quite a lot that goes into the overall sound picture and you are doing a pretty good job at keeping this simple for a lot of people that may not fully understand the detailed analysis. I love the dsp .I feel like it it's easier to work with. To tune a dsp you just go to the speakers ts parameters and tuning recommendations. Good reputable speakers manufacturer will let you know that way to set up the frequency and slope
