A question I've been asked frequently, where do I get my skirts from?

Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.

New? Check out a few of these videos to catch up on what goes on here!

I very much appreciate that you're giving perfectly good clothing a second chance (and saving money)...being a "thrifter" is a GOOD thing :)

Thrift stores are my favorite!!! It's like an adventure and a reward all in one when you find the perfect thing!

Love thrifting! I was raised by a Depression era Mom, who taught us to reuse, repurpose, and recycle. Love refinishing old furniture too!

"Your body is a temple"...have not heard that since my mumma used to say it to me! Thanks for the video and the peak at Burley. He seems to be doing well.

The short skirt style you like is called .. A-Line skirt. I have made a lot of this type.

I wish more folks would buy second hand but then someone has to buy the original to make it that way. LOL I'm generally not a skirt person myself but I do like the ones you wear.

I purchase my clothing from thrift stores too...our animal shelter has a thrift store and I buy clothing from there too. I agree, there are so many perfectly good clothing items at thrift stores; no need to buy new, except like you said, undergarments and socks. Thanks!😊❤

I've always liked your clothing style. 🙂 Excellent info regarding the difference in fabrics and how to tell. Our skin is our biggest organ, so very important what we put against it.

I love your modeling style! ha ha! Thanks Ariel. I'm just like you. Only natural fibers and solids. :)

You just go girl. Almost everything I buy is thrift store. My sox are however smartwool. Love the stuff from thrift stores.... Womens clothing is either too expensive or no longer functional or modest.

Going to a thrift store is on my to-do list. January 2020 I started a no-spend challenge which included buying clothes. I’m a repairer of clothes, darner of socks. I don’t like wearing clothes that have brand names plastered on them either. My shirts usually say “kindness matters”, “love”, & “breathe”. Classic hippie style. Thanks for sharing this with us Ariel!!

Ariel, you are right...the best place to shop are the thrift shops! 🤭 Very economical & I've always found good quality items at very reasonable prices. Thanks for the video. I hope Burley is doing good & on to a full recovery. He sure is a wonderful dog. Give him hugs from me & my big boy Amos! Shalom!

Sensible. A few years ago I decided to do what ladies used to do way back in the day: wear housedresses. Found some simple cotton sundresses. They're great. I wear them with leggings and cardigans when it is cold (not much cold here in the South). I bundle my hair up in a scrunchie and I'm good for the least I was until recently when my neighbor came by and started laughing at me. She said I looked like Kathy Najimi in Hocus Pocus. Oh my. 😮‍💨

Thanks for the tips Ariel! I used to get almost all my clothes from thrift stores, but I have chemical sensitivities & can't handle the scented laundry products. Stink bomb (a brand) works great to get the scent out of natural fibres, if other people have the same problem. I use soap nuts to do my laundry. Love all your vids!

Linen: hang it up wet and it will iron itself dry! And it cools in summer and warms in winter. It is also slightly anti-bacterial. Hence brilliant as innermost layer in all weather. (Tried and tested for centuries in Europe 😂)
