Trying to be a fan of The Jam from the U.S. was fairly difficult, especially without a driver's license or car. Trying to enjoy emerging British pop culture at all normally involved watching TV past midnight or raiding an older siblings LP records (the imports). I was trying to enjoy it through a drinking straw.

78-83 or something like that was at least for Me, one of the most exciting times in music, and I could barely hear it. Well, until MTV I guess.

They were so gloriously loud and powerful for a 3 piece. Happy days down the Rainbow, Finsbury Park ;-)

Great for those who lived through groups like The Jam. Even better if you saw them live. ❤️👌🇬🇧💯🙌

For 40 years now, they have yet to fail to absolutely knock me over....not for a single moment. They are the band of our dreams....and sadly,  because been so long, it's beginning to seem like it.

I will say this and I hope BBC Archivists see this. Paul Weller is a very, very special man x

Saw em twice when I was circa 15/17, remember the backdrop stage images to this great track of George Best Jam were Brilliant.

I am 55 now incredibly and Weller is 63 I think next passes by so quickly gloriously 👍

Tight tight band. No bands like them today.

Sounds like a chilled out Portishead, thank you YouTube for recommending this excellent song. I will certainly look out for more of their songs.

My favorite jam track, should have been a single, it would have been another number 1 for the jam..

Is this the music I hear when I die? I fucking hope so. It was the band I lived by.

Shame we don’t have bands like this anymore power trio The Jam were, Buckler a power horse on drums Foxton blasting out those melodic bass lines and Weller on Vocals and the way he mixed lead and rhythm guitar they had such a full sound.. 18 top 40 singles with 4 number 1’s not many bands can say that! and in 5 years! ‘77 to ‘82.. love going back watching their live sets 💪
