Topic: Obedience

As we approach the end of 2023, with a self reassurance of starting 2024 with a new perspective, it is essential to reflect and ask ourselves a crucial question, from the beginning of 2023 until now, have I been obedient?

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

Have I been obedient to God’s word ?
Have I been yielding and obeying the spirit of God ?
When the Holy Spirit speaks (most times a still little voice), have I been obedient?

— The majority of the obstacles we face are due to disobedience. — Disobedience has prevented many from attaining their greatest potential. — Disobedience is a serious issue we face as humans. —It is a human rebellion nature that requires extra effort and grace of God to overcome—Disobedience has prevented many believers from receiving from God.

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:”

Hearken diligently/ obeying the voice of the Lord thy God, to first observe and do all his commandments which Christ commands thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth (now it depends on what level you want to place yourself, but the word of God says above all nations of the earth.

In verse 2 of Deuteronomy 28

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28‬:‭2‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“and all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:”

Now it is important to know obedience is not a once - off exercise, rather it is a continues exercise that set you up to different levels, if you are not obedient at one level, it is impossible to be obedient when you get to the next level; Hence many are still repeating the same level.

How do we exercise Obedience?

1. It is to abide by God's word.

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

John‬ ‭15‬:‭7‬ KJV‬‬
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

2. Keeping Gods commandments,

‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭4 KJV‬‬
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

3. To yield and obey the spirit of God

‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”

Prayer

As we approach a new year, we pray for obedience to the things of God, obedience to the spirit of God.
Obedience with our walk with Christ.
Let our obedience unlock the next level of our destiny
For the grace to exercise obedience in Jesus name.
