Point of information - to the best of my knowledge, the 'adaptation' thing is a literary conceit; 'Kafna of the Wind' and Sophie Schwimm are inventions of Mitsu Izumi. (Per a friend who's reading ahead of the English adaptation, Sophie herself is a character in the comic. It's easy enough to make the mistake; I don't think anything in the first three volumes indicates that the adaptation framing device is purely an in-story thing. I believe the translator credit pertains to our world rather than the narrative's, though - it's different across different-language versions.)

Nitpicking aside, I'm deeply glad that you've made this video - I'm shocked myself at how little splash Magus of the Library has made, and I'm glad to see somebody counter that. Moreover, your take on the material goes beyond the surficial - I think your read on the themes is spot on, and you've neatly IDed all the little elements of wonderful detail to boot. Thank you again for making it!

This series sounds wonderful. I'm not usually a manga reader, but you are definitely winning me over in your videos and showing me that there are some great stories out there.

Amongst the plethora of fantasy-adventure series, Magus of the Library is definitely my number 1 favorite. The feeling that I had upon reading the first couple chapters was just magical and unexplainable.

Too late to comment here, i am glad someone is reading this manga. Nitpick: Sophie Schwimm is a character from this manga who got introduced in volume 4. She doesn't exist in real life, it's author's imagination & foreshadowing. So something is going to happen to our MC in future so that this character Sophie schwimm has written a book about him "Kafna of the wind". The transator Hamada is fictional too.
So in the fantasy world it's not an original work. But in real world it's an original work from the mangaka Izumi Mitsu
