IS THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 EDGE REALLY WATERPROOF?

Even though the S7 has a IP68 rating, doesn't mean we are encouraged to put the device underwater. Oops.

My s7 screen had water seeping under the glass and on a recent fishing trip, I accidentally hosed it with water and the screen stopped responding and started flickering and stripes showed. It was waterproof at first but I think the seal deteriorated over over the 1.5 years I had it. Always kept in a strong protective case but thinking phone was waterproof I didn't get one that was.

I had my iPhone 6s plus and now 2019 decided to switched to s7 edge.. still worth to use it.

i took my s7 edge to the pool for about 3 minutes to take few photos and a vid, , it was barely underwater and when i got out of the pool the phone started to show weird colors and after 1 hour the phone was dead, , i kept it in rice for 2 days and now the phone works normally except for the screen which is totally black, when i start the phone the screen flashes in a very bright white color and i can see the samaung and android text but later when the phone completely loads up the screen goes black, , i can get notifications and open the camera flash, adjust the volume.
stop advertising for these phones, they are NOT waterproof they are water RESISTANT !
before buying my s7 i saw many vids like yours showing how cool the phone is under water and how people do water tests on it, and when i finally bought the phone it broke after just 1 week because i honestly thought i could take it into the pool.
i bought an s8 after that which was too costly because i bought s7 edge and s8 in just 3 months :(

Now it doesnt work any more.
