This was a tribute to the original by Screamin' Jay Hawkins in 1956 whose picture was on the candle in the beginning . You should go watch that to see how good Angelina was at arranging this to make it her own while still paying homage to the original. She doesn't have others like this and she stopped the growling in later versions. What a great performance by a 9 year old. Now you've seen 2 videos and two voices. Be prepared for more voices and new arrangements, some subtle, some dramatic. Fans expect you to be amazed or even confused. There's a lot of vocal power in this girl. Looking forward to the next one.

She is a phenomenal singer. She’s been singing since she was 18 months old. Her grandmother introduced her to jazz at a young age. There is a great backstory as to why she performs barefoot. A beautiful soul and singer.

She does a cover like no one else on the planet. She re-writes and/or re-arranges every song she sings to give it that "Angelina Touch". She knows the exact formula of how much she needs to "Angelina-ize" her voice, tone, inflection, emotion, persona and volume with different proportions to perfectly fit every song she sings! She has mastered the art of making her version of a song unique, yet showing complete respect for the Original.

Buckle up if you are going to take this ride with Angelina of over 120 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 14 which is her current age. She has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance.
Another thing about Angelina is that she is completely in control of the music she sings. She picks the songs and arranges them herself the way she wants them to be done. In the "I put a spell on you" video, when she was 9 years old, she is seen handing some written notes to the band director. The were her "wishes" about changes she would like in the arrangement.

Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. She has performed everywhere from small weddings of a few people, to London's O2 stadium with 40, 000 people. She performs at jazz festivals, conferences, and charity benefits. At the age of 14, she is a seasoned performer with 8 years of recording and performing. Many of her live performances when she was 10, 11, and 12 years old blow away even the original adult performers of the songs she sings. She is definitely worth your time to experience and get to know. She has covered Sinatra, Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Queen, Miley Cirus, Patsy Cline, James Brown, Lana Del Rey, Norma Jones, Adele, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Screamin Jay Hawkins, and many more. Here is a good sampling of my favorites of hers that cover a variety of genres and ranges. I have included some of her live rehearsal sessions which actually blow away other performers produced releases
This is just a short list and other fans of Angelina will have the same length list with different songs. I have rarely heard one of her performances that I have thought was not up to par. There are three of her original songs in this list that you will love as well.

Every time I hear Angelina sing, I picture her stepping out of an old black & white movie, to transport us back in time, so we can fall in love with these genuine masterpieces again ❤️ 💚 💙 💜 Great reaction!!! A little backstory, for some of your subscribers who may not Grandmother loved Blues & Jazz music, & they used to listen to it all the time, & Angelina was hooked, so her younger style tipped the scale closer to Jazz, and as she ages, she has developed many other styles of music, including her own, & now can sing almost anything!!! She also sews most of her outfits, does all her own musical arrangements, & goes barefoot, because she met a young girl when performing one day, who had no shoes & could not afford to buy any, so Angelina gave her the shoes she had on, & in memory of the girl, & poverty, she continues to goes barefoot! What can I say, except this young girl, is an inspiration, an amazing talent, has a huge compassionate heart, & the world is a much nicer place to be, with her in it !!!

I adore this girl. She's definitely an old soul. English is not her native tongue yet she feels this song so intensely, like she's fluent not only in English but also in gutwrenching, soul-searing musical interpretation.

I love her versions of Cher's "Bang Bang", Count Basie's "Fly Me to the Moon" and Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit". She's mindblowing.

Her arrangement here (compared to Hawkins' original and respecting his work) reveals her genius as it is arguably better both musically and socially. That is a completely different skill set from her obvious vocal mastery. What a gem she is!
