Join me on my Katsura pre-bonsai journey as I take the next step towards creating a stunning bonsai tree through airlayering! In this video, I'll be repotting my tree from its first plastic container into a wooden propagation box. I will share my experience with air layering, a popular propagation method that can help you create new plants from your existing ones.

Ah bless you Marks, take care I hope it doesn't cause you future problems. Tightening and strengthening the core is the key. Did you injure your back lifting?
I know what its like I've been going through a similar thing. Lovely Katsura 🙏 I have 3 small ones developing. All the best to you 💚

Nice job on the roots. That was a good idea for the nebari growth. 👍

I'm so sorry that you hurt your back Maros! Spring time is the absolute worst for injuries. Keep being careful and I'll try and do the same. Certainly a fine root base on your Katsura. Quite interesting substrate. I don't see much zeolite in my area though it can be ordered online. What sort of dimensions are you thinking for the final bonsai?

I'm sorry to hear about your back accident and happy that you are doing well now
I'd like to ask about fertilisation.
You said that you are using osmocote from 8 to 9 months. Is it enough for the season, or do you continue to fertilise with other kids of fertiliser? If it's a "yes". What do you use, and how do you use to fertilise your trees ?
Thank you in advance 🙏

I hope that everything is okay again with your back. Was it a lumbago that you had cause that can be very painful, especially if it's an acute one.
Let's hope that your repotting time will last for at least 2 more weeks so you don't have to rush yourself so much. I just repotted my last tree today, I started repotting about 2 weeks ago.
Even as a pre- bonsai, Acer palmatums are such elegant trees already. Every time I see a video about Acer palmatum, I want to buy another cultivar (Katsura being one of them).

You have no problems with the potting medium drying out too quickly in hot weather?
