Back then I was happy that Ash's Charmander have evolved into Charmeleon in "The March of the Exeggutor Squad" but I still can't believe the Japanese writers would decided to have Charmeleon started to disobey Ash's command in the next episode because to me it feels more like it doesn't remember Ash anymore. To be honest I thought in "Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon" that after Charmeleon evolved into Charizard that it was going back to obey Ash but that never really happen as Ash soon realizes Charizard merely wants to battle Aerodactyl for his own pride and has no intention of rescuing him.

I know the Japanese writers were trying to show the comparison from the Pokemon game as Pokémon will often not obey the player's commands if its level is too high and the player does not have the appropriate number of Badges but unfourtunely the Pokemon anime Series makes no different from the games because after Ash had earn eight gym badges his Charizard still won't obey him. I also can't believe Ash's charizard had tooken a very long time to finally obey Ash again in "Charizard Chills" in the Orange Island Arc. Seriously why can't the Japanese writer just make an episode were Ash's Charizard finally started to listen to Ash before he compete in the Indigo Plateau Conference.
