When she described it initially, I thought she was genuinely getting sniped. Until she said there was no center.

like floor tiles, window glass can also get thermal stress crack. basically a drastic change in temperature (usually hot temp) makes it expand more than its frame limit, having no where to go it just crack while floor tiles pushing each other tiles cracking and sometimes open up. it freaked me out at first but i realized the floor that cracked often gets direct sunlight from glass window

I had a pint glass made of tempered glass that had an air bubble in the base, and when I left it in the sun one day it literally exploded into a thousand tiny shards. It broke into so many little pieces it looked like there had been a snowstorm of diamonds in the house after. It had been left on the windowsill in the kitchen, and we were still finding tiny little bits of glass in the living room weeks later.

Yeah it happened to my oven door glass, too. Just randomly shattered. It can indeed happen if there are some tensions in the glass
