What a beautiful soul, bless you Peter. Never forget seeing the splinter group, wish I could have seen you in your hay-day, my hero 🙏🏼☺️💚

This is very inspiring, as I am currently in a similar situation. Had money, played guitar but messed around with drugs and started hearing voices at age 20. Diagnosed as schizophrenic. Spent most of my 20s in the psychiatric hospital here in Barbados. Age 31 now and slowly recovering and getting my life back on track.

Peter Green is my new hero!

Fucking went out there like a warrior. Can you imagine the pressure of doing that, after so many years, the stories, the stigma... so much respect for that.

Peter was the absolute greatest at playing his emotions. Do yourself a favor and listen to some live bootleg 1969-1971 Fleetwood Mac and you'll hear Peter play licks that ive never heard before or since. Leads that raise the hair on your skin. RIP Peter Green

I first saw Peter at a festival near Leicester around 1967..Mr Mayall and a load of other were playing there. I saw him a couple of times afterwards with Mac and a couple of times with the Splinter Group...at the Leics gig I got his autograph.. R.I.P Peter...and we must not forget Danny...R.I.P Danny.

Back in the 60s and 70s, ECT was still pretty much first line treatment for schizophrenia. ECT has side effects, one being memory loss and that can be long term or permanent. What’s amazing is that all that music and knowledge wasn’t completely erased from his memory and despite his years of mental illness…the power of music bought him back from that dark place to performing again. RIP you absolute Legend.

True British blues legend. Saw an early Splinter Group gig at Ronnie Scotts in the 90s. It was clear PG was never going to be the same musician he was, but there was still some magic there. Pleased that he made a comeback, fond memories of a great blues master... 🙏

I seen Fleetwood Mac at the Morecambe Pier Lancashire England in 1966 and the Ballroom had about 50 people in a space built for hundreds, Peter mostly played with his back to the Floor which was fine with me as being a young 17-18 year old I was getting exposed to this sound for the first time and afterward Peter said they used this time as a practice and he thanked the people up in the Balcony for their support and that was basically just me and a couple of others...
Now its 2023 and I wonder where the time went.
I had my scene with Acid and other drugs during those heady times in the late 1960s in Old London Town but now Im clean and sober since 1985 otherwise I would be dead like so many good friends before me.

I'm so happy he was able to have a relatively normal life once again, and not spend the rest of his days living like a recluse. Peter's story is a testament to the healing power of music.

Too young to see him in the sixties but caught two Splinter gigs and it was just amazing to see him live.

It’s good to see him back in the game. He’s got some good people around him that love him so. He’s so talented it’s tragic what happened to him.
