Yeah... try thinking about how the aftermarket utilizes baffles instead of enclosed air boxes. You are basically sucking in hot air instead cold air, hence the reason the OEM intakes are way better.

Hey Nick/Josh - did you guys ever do follow-up comparisons with a modded and tuned VR30? Would think it's best to retain the factory boxes, and a dry or oiled high-flow filter setup.

Buyer's beware many of the Intakes for the VR30 motor especially with ones from Stillen have had multiple people in the Q50/60 reporting issues such as jerkiness and rough shifting.
This may not be the case for all of the intakes here and it may only affects the 400HP variants but be aware that this motor may not take well to a aftermarket intake.

So this car had stock exhaust, right? I'm wondering if the stock intake does just fine with LDP and CB exhaust upgrades. Or if the increased pull through is really bettered by having something like the AMS intake.
