Guitar Triads in a Major Key

Here’s an idea taken from my course, "TRIADS: Inside Out" - Scale patterns as Root Note maps for your chord progressions. Here’s an example in the key of C major using close-voicing triads on string set 1 (GBE).

This is such a powerful concept that will help you visualize exactly where you can source your triad shapes for rhythm playing, or indeed when approaching soloing with arpeggio shapes.

For the complete rundown on triads, you should check out TRIADS: Inside Out or my eBook ‘The Chord Book: Volume 1’ in my online store 🙏🏻

Excellent! We always learn chords rooted on the 5th and 6th strings but learning triads on the higher strings is where it's at. And knowing the intervals is one of the keys to unlocking the fretboard. Thank you Ry!
