Melanoma is definitely a REAL THING!!!! I’m a stage 2 malignant melanoma survivor so I never leave my house without at least spf 50 on every inch of exposed skin.

Sunscreen doesn’t prevent tanning, they just allow people to stay out in the sun longer and protect against the UV rays that can cause skin cancer, but they do not prevent the skin from developing a tan.

I personally don't use either, I'm a pale girlie, but if I did do one, fake tan because of sun damage. All I got to say, is that with real tan, you'll look great when you're young, but if you do it too much it will age you way faster than you want, and won't end well. Good luck to everyone! fake tan! i’m brown and don’t really need to tan but i still like to do fake tanning bc i like how it looks😂 at the same time it’s true melanoma is a real thing and i’m not into spending hours in the sun and putting myself at risk for that😭

You can still tan while protecting your skin! Sunscreen prevents UV rays from damaging your skin (sun burns) but your skin is still exposed to UV rays causing you to tan.
