Great list! I need to read the Dresden Files and Brandon Sanderson. Also, the JRR Tolkien picture you have is actually his son Christopher who edited all his books after his death.

LOTR is the only series I recommend people watch the movies. I felt if I read the books before watching the movies, I would feel different. But, one book I would recommend over LOTR to new epic fantasy readers is The Broken Sword by Poul Anderson. 1/5 of the length with no filler at all and only one book. Came out same year as LOTR but doesnt get much love 😢

For starting with Brandon Sanderson, I recommend Elantris, which is a stand alone that is kinda a new take on zombies.

Just finished Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames. It was a awesome and pretty funny too. I'm currently reading Book 4 of The Dark Tower series and I'm enjoying it aswell.

Just found your channel and I'd love to see you talk about The First Law Trillogy by Joe Abercrombie. I've been binge reading it. On book 3 now and just found out he's got a sequel out, 2 of 3 are already published. The next coming in September.
