I honestly wished the old man has his own perspective towards the end of the series. I would love to know his life story. But no matter what, Il Nam was one of my favorite characters in the show, besides Ali.

On the Tug of War one, even if they lost, he wouldn’t die because his hands weren’t cuffed on the rope or something like that.

For the tug of war part that you talked about, he actually just did it for his team. His pad was actually unlocked, so he could’ve just gotten out whenever he wanted to. But he decided to save his team anyways.

I honestly don't hate the old man, I really don't. I understand why many people hate him because he's the mastermind, but yeah, he is fair! He gave the players a choice to join the game or not. Even when they know they could die, they still chose to join back! Because of MONEY. The old man also didn't blame anyone for hating him, he knew what he did is wrong. And he accepted the consequences. I honestly think the old man doesn't deserve all the hate, he's one of my favourite characters!

No, he didn’t do tug of war to save his own life he did it to have fun. If you look closely when they’re all laying down after they win, you can see he has no locks

I literally cried when he gave that marble back. I think the whole game would be justifiable if they had told the first lot that, by elimination they mean death. But the rest, the game was actually a lot more fair and equal and on basis of probability. BUT there were certain advantages that some players had which wasn't equalised.
