Ok, so super nerdy point here at 5:01. Pitot tubes measure stagnation pressure and static pressure...then calculate airspeed from there. So, they don't directly measure airspeed. Very clever device...

4:40 - Remember kids (& drivers), Pitot tubes (likely a Prandtl tube here) measures pressure and it’s the pressure differential compared to the static air pressure that determines the relative speed of a vehicle precisely. The “speed” of the air isn’t directly measured.
