Sachin is an absolute boss. I wrote a codemod myself but ended up migrating ~200 procedures manually because it felt like it was more pain than it was worth, but his codemod, which I only discovered once I was done, was significantly better.

Pretty cool indeed. It doesn't help if you have a mono-repo with typed languages like TypeScript and Java or C# if the type checking and autosuggest engine can't translate between them. The closest I've got before is to have SDK-based contract with interfaces and models, but then you have to deploy changes to that before you can use them. You don't get to develop both in real-time like this 🔥

Now I'm interested. The chaining syntax was a bit much for me when I first learned about tRPC. Now that things can be separated... This is great. The JS/TS ecosystem is something else when it comes to DX. If only JS/TS were fast enough I bet they'd be used for everything. But in most cases I guess it's good enough. You can do a lot before you need to optimize anyway.

The only problem with TRPC is, if your server has dependencies not on your FE, it won’t work. So Next it’ll work fine, but combine remix with nest and you are screwed, so that doesn’t really help. One could just use interfaces for typesafety in a monorepo

I used T3 before the docs and this video came out but all of these were in the stack.... I WAS SO CONFUSED!!! 🤣🤣 that being said after reading, trpc, query and some other docs I got the hang of it and im enjoying it. A tutorial on exposing your trpc routes externally would be great as the docs still confuddle me

Thank you Theo for being honest in this video and not shitting on GraphQL like you do in every video. There is a time and place for t3 and it is best for small teams! Key point t3 should not be used in mid to large companies thank you for finally clarifying.

Ran the tool on my t3 app and for some reason it only updated a couple files and gave me no feedback. Managed to update manually in an hour or so and learned some valuable lessons doing that way, so I suppose it was for the best.
