Might do a Q&A / AMA sort of video so if you got questions about movies, questions about who am i, or you want advice on how to take care of your pet lizard, ask away

I loved the eerie atmosphere and the performances. Very impressive for a movie with a million dollar budget!!

I really like your description of the movie as a camp fire story. That is what the experience of watching it felt like to me. It starts out very simply and then just slowly pulls you in with great atmosphere and building tension. If you liked this film, I would recommend a movie called The Endless (2017) which is available on Netflix at the moment. It is similar in the way it is a low-key sci-fi flick which focuses on characters rather than big special effects.

You are right when you say it's like a campfire story.
A campfire story is told by one person and that is how this story comes off even though multiple characters are involved.
There is a sameness to all of the characters when retelling a story

The conversations in the first act were some of the most interesting in the film.

I found this to be a visual radio play

7/10 I liked it, enjoyed it. Above my expectations.

Cinematography. It was very atmospheric. That shot between the exchange and the radio station was fantastic. I rewatched it twice.

I liked Faye and Everett they had a fun dynamic. I liked them.

I loved the blackout during Billy's statement. It was like listening to a bedtime story.

The older lady character was dreadful. She had a lot of weight to carry; the actress just wasn't right.
I loved the simple shots during her interview though. It added emphasis on her words with the close ups.

Baby sister was just thrown in there. I think there was supposed to be more time between the baby sitter going missing and the resolution with the call. Maybe there was supposed to be a hint or a mystery. It didn't really work.

I do agree the characters were underdeveloped. Random couple were a bit thrown in there as well. We should have had them established earlier in the movie. Made us care that they were affected by the chant. Or maybe they chase the leads into the wood. Raise the stakes.

I would have rathered if the ending was a bit less blatant and left unknown. I would have cut the over indulgent ships. A few mysterious lights would have worked.
