Any government institution should seek reduce spending, why would crime ever subside if police had a vested interest in staying employed? The same goes for any government program including Health Care and social work. Why would you ever fix these problems if you knew it would put you out of a job? Most people would brush that as a side as being nonsense but when you see crime going down or your Prison number is going down it doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to see how there would be a quota if you know what I mean
The police should not only be demilitarized but reduced in numbers also, whatever happened to don't tread on me and the independently minded conservatives who wanted less government, isn't that part of the reason of the Second Amendment is to defend yourself from tyranny both foreign and domestic? So now all of a sudden everybody wants more government in the form of police? The contradiction here is blatantly obvious. Just don't complain about big government if you aren't willing to dismantle one of its primary appendages.
