For me, the animal in the 1930s was a timber wolf. People sometimes forget just how big these animals grow. The picture you posted of a wolf attacking a Park Ranger is a pretty accurate depiction of how large an adult male timber wolf can grow.

I'ma tell you, I've lived in CT for 40 years. I'm an avid outdoorsman, I do everything. I have come across some usual stuff in the dark of the woods at night that we could not figure out what it was. I know animals well and whatever I heard this one night was no regular animal. It was BIG.... Moving FAST... and coming right towards us.... Then it just stopped... We listened turned around and moved out from where we were. I've never been scared of anything outdoors but that night I had chills and my blood was cold. It was something.. I didn't "wanna fuck around and find out".

I'm from CT and a popular cryptid to tell campfire stories about are the melon heads. supposedly mutated human like creatures that somewhat resemble gray aliens but taller and i dont think they're said to have the big black almond eyes of ETs. It varies drastically from town to town so anyone else from CT who knows about melon heads could have a completely different description.

I found this episode amusing, all the strange names of these creatures and people’s names, and your sense of humor. Thanks Josh.❤

Glawackus, Glawackus, Glawackus, Glawackus!! 😅 And I remember my grandmother telling us stories of the hide behind and later told to my kids. Traumatizing our childhoods 😱😱 😂😂 Thanks, Josh, for starting the New Year off right with a great video!!

Talking about this "hide behind" how it takes the last person in line on a trail. Reminds me of some of the 411 stories where children would go missing on the trail, and their parents would swear that the child was no more than 5 ft behind them and yet they vanish into thin air never to be seen again. Possible connection

I lived in Glastonbury the only thing I dealt with there were alot of ghosts, a very haunted town. When I was moving out of that town i had a tag sale.I met all the neighbors and they all told me about their hauntings they experience in their homes.

As someone who lives in CT, I laughed at the pronunciation of Hartford Currant. It's just Currant...but Cur-aunt...made me chuckle.
Man, my state has way too many of these stories.

I enjoyed it, a fair number of stories came from my neck of the woods, work takes me into Hodag territory fairly often. The Forests around Rhinelander are home to a pretty powerful guardian spirit. You don't even need to be a psychic to sense it. You know when it's watching when the forest goes quiet, you get an uneasy feeling and there's an unnatural echo.

From NW CT here, had two childhood friends very credible people both experience odd stuff in the boonies over here.

Great stories! You're right, we shouldn't take ourselves so seriously. It's good to have some fun.
This coming from someone who lives in Oregon and has had BF (and other) experiences.

I live in Southern Connecticut.. I saw what I was confident was a cougar.. but got nothing but irritated at the responses I got from CT DEEP who oversees all the wildlife in Connecticut they insisted I must have seen a bobcat I have seen bobcats and it was clearly a cougar I knew that from the tail whipping around and that black tip not to mention it was like four times the size.. but I was just dismissed and told I was wrong and every time it was with a snarky know-it-all attitude.. well about 20 days later give or take a full-grown cougar was hit on the parkway about 45 minutes into the state from were I saw the cat I saw.. they don't know what is in these woods these days and they should stay more open minded.. either way whenever I go into the woods I have a firearm but I always have a firearm on me so no big difference..

Glawackus, Glawackus, Glawackus, Glawackus. Holy bejebus, man. I liked it, kind of an American folklore episode. I personally, think that in all myths, legends, and folklore there's a nugget of truth. Great episode, loved it.

Glawakua ....my Grandpa was a lumberjack and and an avid outdoors man. I think it is safe to say he taught us to respect the forest but to remain aware of our surroundings just in case
