How To Make A Dog Harness: Simple DIY Guide

Показать описание

This is a no-pull harness. This type is a bit different than a regular harness, and it is a better choice if you have a dog who likes to pull on his harness or collar when out for a walk. Commercial no-pull harnesses can be a hassle, because they tend to be bulky and take a few minutes to put on your pup.

"Using this no-pull harness should not be a substitute for proper training. Also, if your dog is uncomfortable with this harness or pulls so hard that he risks hurting himself, you will need to find a commercial product that will meet his needs."

Thank you so so much!! I just got a nine week tiny Yorkie. I’ve searched far and wide XS is WAY too big and they are so expensive! I used his collar and leash. I just took him out and this worked great! Now I have peace of mind knowing I’m not choking his little neck. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This harness you made looks pretty simple, great for a bigger calm dog but not for smaller, more wiry ones as the carabiner is on the neck and so any pulling will she's that area. Some dogs can not handle any pulling in this necks due to their size shape, etc. But, cool video for the beefier dogs 👍

There is no need for the Carabiner clip, the leash can just go through the D-ring without any issue.

There is a still some pull on the neck but from what I've tested just now it is a much much better than straight up pulling on the neck. And reading through what other users are mentioning, even the carabiner clip fails to negate neck pull.

I will edit this comment if I there are any updates in my situation.

Thanks for this! Just adopted a 9 month mixed terrier 3 months ago from the shelter who was spayed yesterday wearing a cone. Very skittish dog, agoraphobic, trembled when we tried to walk her so slowly working with her. so far instructed she’s not to be leaping and jumping so as not to break the stitches open . But first thing once the anesthesia wore off and pain killers kicked in she lept off the back porch and as I rushed to after her she lept off a second set! Will do this until she heals and I can take her to the pet store to get fitted for a formal harness!

Don't think you need the clip if there's a D ring on the back of the collar I'll give it a go can't hurt

Yes it is good but it still pulls the neck

Notice when the dog jumped it throws the leash from it's position and she quickly takes it off before the dog could show how flawed that really is!

The purpose of a harness is to relieve the pressure on the neck. This still pulls on the collar and neck so it's pointless.
