Believe it or not. But parents don't know what's best for you. They know how to wipe your ass as a kid. They may know life advice that worked for them. But being a parent doesn't guarantee that they know anything valuable in today's age. I get the feeling like she is so salty about him not going to college that when she just got evidence that it could work for him, she couldn’t handle that his instinct was right. And as a mother, if I felt like my kid wasn’t doing the right thing, but they were happy and finding success, I would be stoked! If I were to be that type of parent that didn't understand why my kid/s decided to take another route besides college,
