Chapter 3 Normal Distribution, section 3.2 (3B): Finding Probabilities for a Normal Distribution Using a Calculator
00:00 Example 1: Finding probabilities for:
a) lower tail
b) upper tail
c) a range
d) for both tail ends when we have a normal distribution.
We will use the Normal CD (Normal Cumulative Distribution) function on 2 different calculators: Casio Classwiz FX-991EX and Casio Graphical Calculator FX-CG50, both recommended calculators for the new A-level Maths exams.
04:36 Example 2: Worded question.
a) Find the probability on a Normal Distribution
b) Using the Binomial Cumulative Distribution option on our calculator
Following the Statistics & Mechanics Year 2 A Level Edexcel Textbook, also suitable for other exam boards, e.g. AQA, OCR.
