Smart View is a comprehensive tool for accessing and integrating Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Business Intelligence (BI) content from Microsoft Office products. Using Smart View, you can view, import, update, distribute, and circulate data in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Oracle Smart View Capabilities include:
Full ad hoc and free-form analysis capabilities for Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) , Oracle Essbase , Oracle Hyperion Planning , and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
Full ad hoc and free-form analysis capabilities for Oracle EPM Cloud data sources, including Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud (EPM Planning Cloud) , Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud (FCCS) , and Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud

Smart View is ideal for users requiring an integrated environment with their data:
Predefined Form Interaction - EPM application users that execute predefined input/reporting forms find Smart View a convenient way of completing tasks within the Office environment. These users would be planners or consolidators who want to work in the Excel environment either for consistent experience compared to the web application or to tie other spreadsheet-based models into their process.

Reporting - this is another dimension of Smart View usage which leverages the capabilities of EPM data retrieves. Once the data is available within Office, users can create reports as needed based on a combination of data sources.

Access to Pre-Created Content - another area of use is for importing pre-created content such as charts or grids from Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting and OBIEE to PowerPoint, Word, or Excel. The imported content can be refreshed from the Office environment.
