Rush Copley Foundation’s Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center Awarded Grant to Expand Ethnically Inspired Medical Wig Options for Patients

Aurora Women’s Empowerment Foundation Makes Grant Possible

“Women going through chemotherapy are beautiful and strong,” said Amy Baudouin, Board Chair, Aurora Women’s Empowerment Foundation (AWEF). “We want all Aurora area women to have access to resources that help them heal and this is Rush Copley’s mission as well. We have no doubt in our minds that having a wig that looks and feels like your own hair is empowering, allowing women to maintain a sense of dignity and self while they return to wellness.”

With the grant provided by AWEF, Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center will expand its selection of medical wigs to include more options for people of color. Waterford Place services are provided free of charge, reflecting Rush Copley’s core commitment to removing financial cost as an additional source of stress for those confronting cancer.
