Why Is Giovanni's PERSIAN Beating Your Pokemon Before Even 1 Charge Attack? (POKEMON GO)

As we're about to fight Giovanni with Shadow Entei in Pokemon GO, it might first be better to address a comment that has been asked by so many in this community: How is Giovanni's Shadow Persian Taking Out My Machamp or Other Pokemon Before They Can Even Do 1 Charge Move?!

I'm a bit worried people are commenting before even watching the video, still saying how Machamp wrecks the Persian. That answer is yes, as long as the Persian uses Feint Attack; there's another scenario that is discussed here in this video where Persian tears through Machamp like a paper shredder. As far as this video goes, it's just to address the multitude of comments I had gotten back then asking the same thing: How does Giovanni's Persian defeat my Machamp (or others) before it can even fire off one charge attack?

As a casual player, I worked my way up to Giovanni for the first time today. I was perplexed to see my fighting pokes taken out but finally managed to use a Scizor to strip his shields and a Ryperior and Gyarados to take out his Steelix and Entei for the win. But it would have made me feel better about my unoptimized pokes if I had seen this beforehand.

It's funny I beat Giovanni on my first try, but I was sweating so hard bc his Persian had destroyed my my first Pokemon and took half the health of my second. I just assumed the Persian was extra roided out

Damn, I wish I watched this video earlier lol. The Persian used scratch in my case; It took me over an hour to defeat Giovanni and my bag is now filled with pokemon corpse...

Brilliant video. Failed about 10 times then beat him first time after watching this vid. Gio had Persian, Nidoking and Suicune. I used exacdrill, switched almost immediately to machamp which took me through to Nidoking. Then put exacdrill back in. Then finished Suicune off with Zekrom. TY GG

Great video, I just tried the "switch out strategy" and it made at all the difference, it's almost stupid how much easier it was this time around.
Golem to start, switch to Vaporeon halfway and dwindle down his shields with Aqua Tail. Back and forth with his Cloyster until I bring my Golem back out to destroy it with Stone Edge. Finally, his Registeel was completely defenseless, and no match for my Arcanine.

I know that this video is 2yrs old, I feel like I've understood where Persian can decimate our pokemon in seconds but I feel that the real question is; when Persian already has a low base defense stat of 136, being a shadow is supposed to significantly lower a pokemon's defense, regardless of being 8-10k cp, how is our super effective fighting type attack not also decimating it at the same or faster rate? Personally I feel like Niantic boosted giovanni's Persian to make it a challenge, otherwise why would a non shadow (therefore with full def) Persian be so easy to take down in normal trainer battles.

Just to make sure I am communicating what I am trying to, for my hypothesis I am solely looking at damage to Persian between Giovanni and trainer/friend battles where I have had an acquaintance with a max cp perfect persian to see if it would be anywhere near as difficult as Giovanni's. What I found back then is that Giovanni's Persian is dealt a LOT less damage by super effective attacks than the aforementioned acquaintance's which is what I'm basing my presumption that Giovanni's has a ridiculously buffed Def Stat instead of having a ridiculously nerfed Def Stat as shadow's are supposed to.
