Unfortunately, many brands are using “curvy” as a euphemism for plus-size, and some are just using for truly curvier shapes, it can be hard to tell what they mean.

I've seen hundreds of fashion videos and articles but never realized I was an apple 🍎🍏 until you explained it and used yourself as an example. Thank you always for such helpful information! 🥰

You absolutely nailed the Hourglass's best pant options. I wish I knew them when I was a teenager and somehow forgot when I got older. It's good to see a reminder. Thanks.

This is a great video. Well done straight to the point. I would add Kim K is not pear shaped. She has prominent shoulders. Naturally she’s more rectangle or inverted triangle but the surgery to her hips made her more hour glass. See unedited photos of her. Doja cat is a great example of pear shape.

Found your channel accidentally, on YT recommendation, was not looking for a fashion video. But was pleasantly surprised to find two components I value the most in any advice - practicality/ease of following, and explanation why something works in a particular circumstance and something else does not. Also, I was pleased to realise that most of the things you are talking about I discovered intuitively, so already have the right for me clothes in my wardrobe. Will just need to match them according to your recommendations. I am currently on a diet, having to lose a considerable amount of weight before I can wear the clothes I like, but subscribed to your channel anyway - watching your videos will be an additional motivation for me to succeed 😉

This is SO helpful! I'm a super short but super busty hourglass. Wearing dresses in the dead of winter is getting harder each year living in NYC. I can't wait to try out some straight leg pants/jeans!

So glad to see the curvy lines. I've had to fix my jeans so many times. Thank goodness I sew my own clothes now!!

I think it’s important to know that there aren’t just these 5 types and one can fit into more than one category at the same time. For example, I have a typical hourglass shape at first glance, since I have wide shoulders and hips and a relatively small waist in comparison. But I also carry more weight on my thighs than typical for an hourglass figure, which fits more into the pear category. Therefore, I can’t wear straight leg pants, as suggested for the hourglass figure, because they’re always too tight on my thighs.

I tend to wear either very wide leg pants or looser pants that can be more fitted in the waist by adding a belt (or altering them).
And, since I like my wide hips and really don’t want to hide them or slim them down, I also like sweatpants with side pockets on me. Unfortunately that’s not a style one can wear everywhere every day lol

(And, at the end of the day, your best asset is what you like about yourself and the best pair of pants for you is the one you feel most comfortable in.)

Thanks so much! I asked and you delivered!! I always resort to wearing dresses and of course I’m taking your advice and going for what you suggest. There are so many pairs of pants in closet I don’t wear because they aren’t the right fit for me. Time to donate them! You are truly the best!!

Thanks so much for your great videos! I have learned more from you in the last month watching your videos than I ever learned before. Just retired from my job, live in the southwest and need a complete wardrobe makeover. I’m still learning, but I am not afraid of clothes shopping anymore! Keep the videos coming!

ahhhh finally validation for why I've always struggled to like wearing pants (either uncomfortable or look bad more often than not both. I really only wear them when I don't have a choice, though newer curvy lines make the comfort thing a bit better) and gravitate toward dresses almost subconsciously. Defs get more compliments when I wear dresses/skirts too. Thank goodness for all the warm leggings/tights on the market now that lets me get away with wearing them almost year round (depending on location).

Thank you. I am an hourglass and I got to know it today, thanks to you. I’ve been struggling to find correct plants for myself.

I am a petite but very busty hourglass. When I gain weight it goes equally to my bust and hips, which are never more than 1 or 2cm difference. I don't like to wear high rise pants/jeans as I am very short waisted. If I wear high rise bottoms it looks like I have absolutely no definition and my bust is sitting on the waist band of the pants. Midrise all the way for me 😊 Which also helps with the gaping at the back of my pants too. I guess midrise is the equivalent of high rise for me 😆

Pear here! So wanted to point out with the side pockets, the first pair with the two rows of buttons would look awful ngl, but the second pair with the side pockets be a tad more subtle, I actually love that look, I love drawing attention to my hips as they're one of my best features, so long as I can smooth the hip dips aha, and I love how I look in extreme flares but I struggle to find one's that aren't hipsters, fastest way to a muffin top that I know 😭

I am an oversize pear shape. I actually prefer midrise skinny jeans. Its makes my legs look a lot longer. If i wear wide pants, I look extremely boxy

I am also a hidden apple and never realized that was my body type. I look nothing like an apple so it's confusing. But the way the body type is described in this video makes tons of sense. I will lose fat everywhere on my body, inculding whatever little I have on my chest, before my body starts eating at the fat store in my tummy area. I got into abs at some point and built a nice 4 pack, the other 2 remaining hidden under my stubborn belly fat. I have made peace with my tummy and learned how to dress to de-emphasize it. At 0.81, my waist to hip ratio is borderline abdominal obesity, while at 18, my BMI is classified in the us as underweight, and I often hear that I look "skinny" (and wear a size 0 on a fat day). It's maddening.
