My god this was probably one of the worst bass videos I've seen for an Ibanez bass and maybe in general.
I saw this new bass and it seemed cool, this video made me actually lose all interest in it.
No disrespect to the guy but 0 intonation noodling is NOT selling a bass.

Ibanez, you make some really wonderful instruments. But intonation on fretless instruments is objective - it is not a matter of taste, but actual hertzs and cents and soundwaves clashing or harmonizing with each other. I'm sure that a musician demoing this instrument might be a wonderful player but here the intonation is so off that it hurts. Bought your UB 804 ignoring almost every official demo (and it's really a great instrument), and here we go again... It's so damaging for fretless instruments to not play them in tune.

Might be easier on the ear in a longer version. Where the layers build up gradually, after a couple secs it was already too much for my taste - that being said, both artist and instrument are amazing. Looking forward to the results others get, in the reviews to come.

I dont understand why panga panga keeps being chosen as a fretless board. The grain is too coarse and open which can present buzzing spots. Same with the inlays. Panga runs the risk of developing high and low spots from climate changes thus requiring leveling more often. It's also soft. Fretless necks can be a huge pain. Using maple, ebony, richlite/rocklite/ebonol is the more reliable choice. The fingerboard wood alone turns me off of this and the portamento.
