Def part 2! Completely understand you on this, somehow reading feels like it turned into a competitive sport: if your up to date with latest releases, whether if you explore different genres, or how many books you read. Proud your taking this step, your Library should bring you happiness not stress or anxiety. GO HAILEY!!

Just get rid of all of the books you think you're never gonna read, you're not interested or don't spark joy. Be ruthless!! You can do it!!!

You should definitely read whatever you want..don’t let yourself be pressured about what your viewers want/don’t want. They’ll understand 🙂

I think your new mindset is so healthy! Doing big book hauls might make fun videos but it's a waste if you're not really excited about the book.

How far out of your comfort zone are you ready to explore? I can recommend some books from the past.
_The Invention of Morel_ by Adolfo Bioy Casares (1940, Argentina) A fugitive on a strange island finds he is suddenly not alone.
_The Time Machine_ by H.G. Wells (1895, England) The famous time travel story.
_Appointment in Samarra_ by John O’Hara (1934, USA) At Christmas 1930, a married man brings about his own downfall and cannot stop his self-destruction.
The first two are very short books. All three they have male protagonists.
I got out of my own comfort zone this month my reading my first western. Yee haw!

I'm so happy for you, Hailey! The vast majority of my favorite booktubers aren't my favorites because they have the same reading tastes as me. They're my favorites because they're true to themselves - they read what THEY love and then share their passion and enthusiasm with their viewers. I want to watch booktubers who make me excited about reading, and they can only do that when they're genuinely excited about their own reading. Happy trails on your new reading journey!

My reading taste has changed so much over the last few years! I unhaul books the same way. It's just a feeling! I would love a try a chapter tag!

Interesting video, I will say that one of the things that annoys me about book tubers is the " this month I read 36 books" and when a blurb is provided, frequently detail is forgotten or misstated and my perception is that there seems to be a race which is the polar opposite of what reading should be. I really think you should read what you enjoy, when you want.

My favorite videos you have made have been when you are talking about something you enjoy. Such as when cooking or talking about your Alice in Wonderland collection or even book mark collections. :) . I also love the videos where you talk about different books you have enjoyed (romantic comedy, etc...) so all this to say do you and don't worry about anyone in the unknown video who really don't matter. I am 48 yrs old and enjoy middle grade, romantic comedy, ya, huge SciFi/Fantasy (especially old stories) But I also love finding new books and genres from you and anyone else I view. You do You! Don't worry about what viewers "want".

I can recommend "Uprooted" though :) But not because I want you to read it for viewers, but because I enjoyed it and loved it and love to recommend it. Recommend try a chapter. ;) but also if you don't feel like it, get rid of it. If your tastes ever change again you can always re-buy it or even borrow from the library.

Lessons in Chemistry is actually a Historical Fiction! I thought it was a romance, but after reading it, it was definitely not lol. I highly recommend reading it! It was funny, empowering, infuriating and just a well rounded read.

Yes do a big un haul! You will not regret it! I did it a year ago, and I haven't regretted it at all, our tases changes so much and with book tube we all read so many books because of the hipe and then 5 years after you know that you will never reread it. Now I love to see my bookshelf with books that I want to reread. Take your time but of course a part 2

Love a declutter, I took over 150 books to the charity shop and thought I’d be bereft, but haven’t missed a single one.

You're not the only one, I can't decide on what to read because there's too many choices 😮😮😮

I get intimidated by my bookshelf and I’ve only got about 70 unread books, can’t imagine how you must feel sometimes 😅 And I’m definitely interested in a part two of this video!! I really loved The Shadow Queen and would definitely recommend it, not sure it’d be your thing since it’s fantasy though. Great video, thanks Haley!!

when you go to buy books in the future, try to put yourself in your future shoes so to speak. Do you think that you are going to want that book in 5 years. Are you going to care about this book once your finish? Would you ever re-read it? Just some things to think about.

I was where you are at a few years ago, over time I weeded out the unfavorables. Now I read kindle unlimited and only get my favorite books in physical copy (and signed if it can lol) and now my book shelves bring me joy again.

I totally understand you. I had to accept that I don't like YA that much anymore and it was a rough adjustment. And every once in a while I go through my tbr and do the same.. I just loose interest in some of the books or I'm just not vibing with them anymore.
Also, Lessons in Chemistry is definitely NOT a chick-lit. It's really good though.

Part 2 <3
I'm the same way, my taste in books has changed soooo much from when I first started getting in to reading

This video was so relatable. I used to only read fiction, mostly fantasy, but over the past few years my reading has changed drastically. Now almost all of the books I read are nonfictions. I don’t even understand what how or really when this happened. But over time I just started gravitating towards different things. It’s a natural part of life and I don’t think you (or anyone else) should give yourself a hard time over it. What’s the point of reading if you’re just miserable the whole time?

Be brutal Hailey, letting go and moving forward is good mentally. And if you need you can always pick it up on a library near you. Reading should be fun for you.
