Honestly I play with the mod that caps enemy damage at 1 point.

It's only fair, otherwise they ruin your entire health bar in 1 hit, while also hitting 15 times per second.

This way, levelling vigour also makes sense.

I now have 1800 vigour, so I can last for around 120 seconds in front of a boss.
