UN Security Council held an open debate on Middle East which includes the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The UN chief said the situation "is growing more dire by the hour", repeating his call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. Here are some of the main highlights of the day.

From a historical point of view, the United States has never ever passed a resolution at the UN Security Council that it did not participate in drafting it.
The US always passes its own resolutions that it has drafted and forwarded to the council.
Any resolution that the US did not draft, in most cases, either get "vetoed" or in some very special cases gets "abstained".
In the past 75 years, the US has "always vetoed" any resolution about (against) Israel if it did not participate in its drafting.
The vetoing of the Brazilian draft by the US was not surprising at all.
The security and defense of Israel have been, is, and will be the "Amercia's red line".
