I am so glad you took it back today with the ways it used to be. I get disgusted on how many of these 'celebrities' call themselves "DJ" when they keep using software that does it for them. Give these people vinyl and they wouldn't be able to mix.

You’re a legend mate thanks. Been mixing vinyl for 6 months now and got beat matching down now! Did my first public performance a few days ago was scary af! Can be hard to put the needle down with hands shaking. Also using pitch riding now to find the sweet spot!

thanks for the video! I've been djing on digital for about 2 years and just decided to get myself some PLX 500s and start learning how to mix vinyl. Though it is quite challenging and I still haven't achieved a perfect beat match, I'll keep trying. The joy of challenging myself and learning is what it's all about. Cheers everyone!

I started on controllers and got bored. 12 months ago I bought a pair of turntables and a mixer and haven’t looked back. So much more fun and skill than using software.

i have been a vinyl dj for about 20 years now (omg, i'm old! when did this happen??!!) but honestly i'm more of a selector- at bars, not clubs, so there's no real pressure to mix or beat match. just create a good vibe and have decent transitions. i have very eclectic taste and never stick to any one genre, so it would be nearly impossible to beat match most of the time anyway. but in the past couple of years i've gotten more interested in playing stuff that would greatly benefit from me having some real skills. your videos have been very helpful so far! i've got a lot of practicing to do!

I try to mix vinyl when i start to DJ, in ca. 2003-2004? No Youtube, no tutorial or courses here in Poland. I sell my last setup (2xTechnics1210 and basic mixer) a year after I start, because i think it was to difficult to me. Maybe i should try one more time? Still got my vinyls and always love this type of DJing.

Another tip but this only works for vinyl recorded on 33.3rpm is to keep one finger pressed down on the 33 button and with the other finger press the 45 button momentarily to speed up the track, , it sort of works like Pitch Bend but it only speeds up the track and as l said it only works with 33.3rpm vinyl

I started djaying back in 84’, first with old citronic belt drive turntables and a Radio shack 2 channel mixer then progressed to the SL1200’s which I still have today, , changed mixers over the years but now have a Denon DNX1500S..
Unfortunately carting vinyl and the availability has made me change to digital and I have a Rane One now but I couldn’t go back, even if I do miss the feel of vinyl..

The biggest issue I have is transitioning from Hanpin SuperOEM turntables to a Technics SL1200 MKwhatever because the torque is so different. I started out pretty much only riding the pitch and when I switch to a Technics it's just confusing because the muscle memory doesn't work the same.

I've been mixing on my technics since 86 I tried cdjs I couldn't get on with them but I guess its what you're comfortable with and we never wrote down the bpm or the key no one cared back in the day

Hello great!!! I personally find mixing with analog pitch controlled turntables much easier. I bought a healthy ago the new Technics G series and I noticed that the beat machine is more difficult due to the 0.10 increments they have. I find the pitch of Pioneer CDJs more precise because in +-10 mode the shot is 0.05 and 0.02 at +-6

That’s how it’s supposed to be no screens no laptop no computer old school vinyl still the best that’s a real DJ not computers

I prefer to use the side of the platter to brake/accelrate the pitch bending and then correct the pitch instead of pitch-ride only. Back in the days i played with 3 decks and ultra fast beatmatching.
