Bolts were froze on my 84. cage nuts just spin so I drilled a 3/8 hole for extension thru floor and 5/16 for a punch. Put punch thru cage nut to hold then broke nut loose. Worked well on all 4. Be sure to check that body lines match. Mine did not so had to go back and shim left side of cab 1/2" with large washers. 6mo later had to go back again cause new side step brackets attach to cab mounts. Hope this saves ya some time. fravar

So need to do this, found one old rubber laying on the top of the frame a while back, I can't convince myself to cut into the floorpan though, it's the only damn thing that looks pristine on my truck lol

Your video is the absolute best presentation on the subject of replacing cab mounts that I have seen. I have a question . The cab on my 2000 S-10 shifted driver’s side to passenger side about three quarters of an inch. What is going on with the cab mounts on my truck? Thanks!

Awesome! Since the prior generation C/K series pickups (67-72) are relatively the same, these procedures should work for them as well, at least I'm hoping since I have a '68. I've cut out an opening in the floorboard of a Suburban 1500 in order to access the electric fuel pump so that i didn't have to empty the fuel or drop the tank. But I've never thought of cutting an access for a bad nut. I like it! 👍

To add, for those who didn't know this. At the 9:16 mark, when replacing that bushing it might be a good idea to have a look at the ground strap and replace it as needed since bad grounds can cause electrical issues.

Thanks for another great video David!

Great video! I have a 1981 K 10 and I’m having a problem with my gas tanks I believe it’s the vent hose and that’s it’s possible clogged. Anyway you guys can do a video on it or possibly how to remove the gas tank and clean everything out that would be great thanks! Jack

Is there a way to do it by taking the cab braces ? I have to replace them anyway if not I’m going to sawzall through my bushings, don’t want to cut through my floor

If you’d cut the bolt then you’d still have to cut the floor to get the rest out?
