It's really unfortunate, and parents should have taught such vital information. But since parents are known to consistently fall short in that regard, I think our schools should stepup and have available classes. But our government would never provide the funding. Ugh!!

The fact that I have preteen girls and a boy and I stress everyday about taking Care of their body's and hygiene and they just lack in that stage right now. I give then the tools, the knowledge, just have a "don't care" phase. My oldest who is 15 is also suffering from depression so that plays a big role in her hygiene.

Since my mother told me everything I needed to know, I have no need for any therapy... I feel so sorry for my friends that have bad parents and need therapy now...

No, you're not the only one. I think most adults that weren't given this information feel this way.

Tbh I don’t think about this so you might be but idk. But I agree that as kids we should be taught how to take care of ourselves physically and mentally. Spiritually and emotionally too depending on the school! Yeah these convos can be awkward but I think school should be the time to talk about awkward things. But it’s suppressed because we fear being misunderstood or we fear bullying. Also most school systems don’t implement this stuff in their education. Idk what people are teaching but yeah

Yes you are. Realistically children won't use that information. Most kids don't think about things like their physical or mental health, and that's ok. They don't need to be worried with such things. Besides that, I'm pretty sure most kids won't listen to teachers/authorities. The reason you learn things as an adult, is because you are more mature then. I'm pretty sure your parents said to "eat your veggies" and you didn't, or some situation like that.

Why are we acting like chemical imbalance in the brain isn’t a thing? There a reason there’s a word “clinical” in clinical depression and etc is because it is based off of chemicals in the brain rather than our environment and outside factors. Science.

yeah, but there’s not a standard requirement for having babies so everyone’s just doing their best. most therapy is due to poor parenting not education programs
