I have the same UPS and i notice a very great difference between the real power that the UPS is consuming from the grid (measured with a smart plug) and the power that the UPS companion software say that it consume. I saw that there is a 3, 5-4 factor between the two values. But i’m not worrying too much.. it’s just a basic item and it’s just the software that is poorly designed

For routers like this, get PowerWalker 12V DC UPS (SecureAdapter). It also has a 0.5w consumption in standby. On my 12V 2.0A gigabit router, it lasted about 1:30~h on a new battery.

the false output load reading is a factory defect, they will replace it if you ask (also the accuracy is limited to percentage points so 480/100=4.8W increments for your model)

I have had the 2000vA for quite some time. (Yes I do test it once a month, the computer runs as normal when I remove the AC from the UPS. I leave it like for about ten minutes then I restore the ac.)

I would have liked to see your video before doing the stupidity of buying the eaton 5E, I just had the same misadventure as you, I bought the E5 650i last weekend to protect my NAS, Switch and internet router against voltage fluctuations, Eaton companion shows me that the UPS consumes 60W without plugging anything in. It's normal for an Inline inverter to consume a few watts because it embeds an AVR... But 60Watts it's too much... I had another problem also with this UPS. I use a UPS, at home the voltage reach 254 watts sometimes and the 650i did not do the job to lower the voltage! I bought the E5 1500i one month ago for my gaming PC it consumes 20Watts without anything plugged in and is more powerful than the 650i, the AVR is triggered at 253Volt to lower the voltage to 210V as expected... The software is poorly designed for this model and I thing that the 5E is the Eaton low range brands, the manual is really poor too... Like you, I do not recommend this product, it's very frustrating and it's a big waste of time and money, you are lucky to have an Eaton support in your country, in my country there is not! I contacted several Eaton supports in several countries to get help and understand what's happening with the UPS's, some answered me and when I explained them my problems they ignored until this date! Result, I returned the Eaton 650i and I kept the 1500i to run my gaming pc and my NAS, I have no choice because there is no better choice in my country in terms of price and he does the job for the moment, I hope it will last longer. In the future I will invest more for a better brand with "LCD" but no the 5E. In my country they sell the Njoy brand, can you suggest it to me? Thank you!

is there any guide how to callibrate if you change the battery? i had put the ups usb on a raspberry pi that run Nut ups app that show the battery percent and battery run time, which is way way off, i had the 5e2000iusb and the load was 300 watt and it say it had battery run time arround 7 to 8 min but it exceed and can run up to 15 to 20 mim + when i tested it.

The UPS output shows 48-54W because it's charging the batteries. Once the batteries charge to complete, that will be very low and draw some power, plus the router will keep the batteries trickle charged.
