A reference check doesn't allow for probing the former supervisors/managers in anyway. The only thing a reference can give is: How long you worked their? Would you rehire? Title/Position. Anything else can get you in legal trouble and you risk getting sued. I used to work as a Paralegal in Labor Law and you can legally only ask about 3 or 4 questions during a reference check.

can you say that you cannot recall a moment like that in a similar role from experience but then go ahead a present and answer saying what would you do ? also, another question, i thought it was required to give a specific situation when answering a behavioral question ??
