I’m not out of shape. I’m just prepping for food shortages by storing fat in my gut. It’s strategic.

I burned 2000 calories today. I left the brownies in the oven for an extra hour

I imagine people bugging out just squatting out in the forest 200 yards from their house looking around nervously.

Great video! Excellent points. I agree that people should definitely Bug In if at all possible for most scenarios. Bugging Out seems to only make sense if you have a homestead ready to go to and you're able to drive there before the masses begin to mobilize.

These are all great points. One other, no matter how good you think you are, there is always someone better. Defense “on the road” is going to be critical. My goal is bug in. Water, shelter, food, defensible. Truly have everything I “need”. Not wants, needs. I have a bug out bag. It will be used only when it is no longer smart to stay in place. My bag is 48 lbs, wife’s is 30 lbs. add her med kit and my ammunition bag and I am about 70lbs and she is about 45 lbs, including several options for defense. We both are practiced with collapsible batons, throwing knives and firearms. And we are both in shape and practice with said equipment. She is a nurse with trauma skills and I am ex-military. Bug out will be long after initial SHTF and most have perished. Those that are left will be hardened and ruthless. That will be a challenge for anyone. As prepared as we are, bugging in is still our primary plan, with bug out as an absolute last resort. Anyone who says they will bug out and “live off the land” is sadly mistaken and has probably never lived more than a day at most without food, shelter, water, etc. Those will be the first to fall. The fantasy preppers. They bought a gun, a box of ammo, a life straw and a backpack. Maybe even have a fishing pole and some lures. 💀🤡 Thanks again for the thought provoking insight.

For years I have thought, and am glad to finally hear. the most overlooked thing about bugging out, "You can Only Carry So Much"

You’ve come a long way in the last year, in many ways my friend. You’ve also taught and retaught me things and for that I’m grateful.

Bug in at all costs, but always be prepared to leave if survival depends on it!

Most people bugging out will eventually end up in a camp.

Crazy how I never considered a bugout situation until this last year. I have been prepping to bug-in for years. I saw an ad one day not long after the shutdown and realized I needed to learn everything I could about bugging out. Thank you so much for reminding me of all these ways we can and probably will die. I'm so glad I can make my home look like it's empty and no one is home cause because I plan to stay home as long as I can. 5 to 10 years right now.

I'm taking care of my mom and brother. I can't leave them behind. If they die, I die.

I feel like bugging out is only ever an option if you have a second home or a place to stay but even then I would be so reluctant to bug out

Great video. Everyone that plans on bugging out really has no idea how hard it’ll be. You can’t possibly carry all the stuff you’ll need.
