Html
Css
JavaScript

React/Vue/angular
Css Framework / library

NodeJS / express
Security
MongoDB or MySQL/PostgreSQL
REST / Basic HTTP/Application Layer Logic

Move on to another backend language (python or Java) and a web framework for the respective (django/flask or Spring)

System design / web architecture and systems

Testing

This is how the fullstsck undergrad and masters courses I took at my university were structured and how I’d recommend someone learn. As Tiff said, html/css then JS then a library/framework for JS then backend and so forth

it's inspiring to see other women in tech! I'm just starting out with HTML and I'm aiming to be a front end ~

Gaining a depth of understanding in the fundamentals like HTML, CSS before moving to other, shinier, technologies is really good advice. I've found that this has been the most challenging part about doing independent learning. Thank you for making this video.

I'm a full stack developer myself just like you, and it all started with CS50 by Harvard 5 years ago. Seeing this video reminds me about myself few years ago, trying to figure out what to learn and how to learn.

Started a IT service company with a group of friends about 9 months ago.
I'd say pretty successful in terms of financial aspects.
But also have seen alot of outrageous expectations with low budgets.

But we aren't picky with any job that comes our way

I started yesterday. I'm typing this out late so here's hoping I stick with learning the basics and more of front-end.

I've been a fullstack for a little over 10 years and I totally agree that Javascript is a great place to start. I would suggest to really focus on one one side at first (front or back) and gradually move in to the other. Because there is a shit-load of information out there.

I'm a senior Dev and Scrum master, this is a great vid ...one thing u said right near the end "People start and jump from one lang to another" thereby not becoming proficient in anything ..this is so true - My advice ...If u r a visual type person...some one that likes design someone that is arty ...stick with Front end design ...get really good at HTML ..CSS...JavaScript...JQuery - Then go and find a job that fits your skill set - If you prefer the database side of things and the back end logic .... Then get really GOOD at coding in - C# or Java (This is NOT JavaScript ) .... SQL...Master an IDE like - Visual Studio ...concentrate soley on these disciplines n go get a job that fits your skill set ...Remember Programming ...Dev ...IS NOT easy ....u WILL NOT master it in 24 hours ...or 30 days ...or 12 months ...Like anything difficult it will take u time ....U will make MISTAKES ....but u will learn from these mistakes to be a better Dev ...

I've taught a few people how to code and I always recommend starting with the basics and working your way up. Full stack development can be intimidating at first, but it's totally doable if you're dedicated and willing to put in the work. This video gives some great tips on how to get started and what to focus on. Keep it up!

As an added tip that I believe in is that after you have learned a JavaScript framework you should go back to plain JavaScript and try constructing the same sort of projects that you created with a framework before. This adds a bunch of extra time to your learning time, but I believe it helps show you better how said framework really works (taking away some of the magic of that framework) and shows you what you can achieve in a web application without frameworks (there are some cases where using no framework for a page might even be better).

Step 1: Pray to the StackOverflow gods that you are not the first one to ask the question...

My advice would be to start with C++, Java, or Python. Learn data structures and different algorithms. Then, learn SQL and database management. Finally, HTML, CSS, and Javascript!

in brief:
In this video, the speaker discusses how to become a full stack developer in 2020.
A full stack developer is someone who can develop both client and server software, meaning they can program a browser, a server, and a database.
The speaker provides a step-by-step guide for beginners:

1. Start with the basics: Learn HTML and CSS to build a strong foundation.

2. Move on to JavaScript: A versatile language, good for both front-end and back-end development.

3. Master JavaScript and branch out into different frameworks and libraries like React, Vue, or Angular.

4. Consider learning front-end development first, as it can be more engaging for visual learners.

5. Research job postings to see which languages and frameworks are in demand.

6. Use JavaScript for back-end development with Node, which is common in many environments.

7. Keep in mind that you can choose other languages like Python, especially for data science and machine learning.

The speaker emphasizes the importance of sticking with one area of focus and mastering the fundamentals before moving on to other areas.
They encourage viewers to subscribe for more tech and coding videos to help with their careers.

I never really planned to be a full stack developer but eventually, it happened. My drive was to know more so that I could run a company but eventually a path to becoming a full stack developer opened and I just went for it. I have IT bachelors degree so that helped me a lot to recognize situations and I became a full stack developer within 5 years, within same company. I never expected it but I am just glad it did happen.

Server, service, database, application, hardware communication, driver communication, front end, back end development and unit testing....I think I covered it all.

I've worked in IT for over 20 years as a QA lead and analyst, but I absolutely love coding. I get to dabble in test automation at work, but I really would like to transition from QA to doing more development. I've built several websites on the front end using themes and CSS, and I'm currently learning the full stack through an online course. I can't wait to be able to put those skills to use.
