F4j was first used in 1961 the F14 was first used in 1970
The F4s(most advanced phantom in usa tree) is from 1975

The F-14 only went into service a couple years prior to the F-16 and F-15. It’s just that it was built as a fleet defense interceptor and to shoot down Soviet bombers at long range. Compared to the F-16 and F-15 it almost looks ancient but in reality they were all not that far apart. So really it is historically accurate. Also countries still flew the phantoms well after the US retired them so it makes sense that a F-14 would be going against them.

For all of you coping about the F-14, I used to be like ya'll, now I very much enjoy the Phantom that faces the F-14, most F-14 players lack skill and use Phoenix spam to kill enemies, now, how do you avoid them, simple.

Turn 120°, use chaff a few times, turn back, profit, there are tons of tutorials on youtube that help with that including how to crank the missile (force the missile to do massive turns)

Ps: Before I start being attacked, you should probably look at what you're doing wrong first, because most good players will tell you the Phoenix is a bad missile.
