I'm not religious or Christian but given the thousands of years of theology, not the doctrine necessarily, the base story is very coherent. We are damned, a savior comes to save us, we will be saved if we have faith in him. It also explains objective morality, NOT saying Christians are moral but having a higher power gives you that ultimate dictator to establish objectivity. I also don't think Science goes against metaphysics, I think they're one in the same. You should look up the four cosmological arguments by Thomas Aquinas

The cause of suffering is oneself way of looking at things if u say that life is suffering you are literally rewiring yourself to believe that. Same thing with the faith of god shit even me typing this is me believing that this statement is true so if anybody comments that I’m wrong my natural reaction is to say that ur stupid and wrong and so the circle continues like a snake eating itself.
