You forgot that is an incredible PC VR headset also! With its price hands down is the best VR you can get... If you have the dough go get it now!

I'm coming from an Medion Mixed Reality from 2019. I see it almost exactly like you. I'm pretty happy with the Quest 3 so far. Now Steam Link is out and it works very good for PCVR. 2 hours of PCVR straight I had no problems for me. No connection or artifact issues. But the charge time inbetween (~90 minutes) could be a little bit to long. I'm happy with the comfort of the original head strap. Didn't feel any pressure on my back of the head. But sometimes it would be nice for more than 2-2.5 Hours. So I will buy a head strap with battery

I'm the same as you, I've had my Quest 3 for around 1 month now and I think it's amazing. The PC doesn't even get played now. Red Matter 2 blew my mind, looks soo good and game is pretty long too, with amazing story and puzzles. FNAF help wanted has scared me more then any game since system shock 2 way back in the day!! I will also add that the "I expect you to die" series of games are also very good indeed. If you're thinking of going into VR then now is the time and Quest 3 is very choice

Like you, I am a VR curious person, and was trying to decide between THIS headset and the PSVR2 as my first experience. After watching this, even though I already own a PS5, I may very well go with the Quest III.

the headset would be even better with a aftermarket battery strap, it will be more comfortable and you will have longer battery life on the headset

I liked how the original Oculus had built in headphones — made you feel like you were in the experience

You can capture in landscape/widescreen as well. Just have to go into the settings and change that.

If you get VR sick then you need to get your "VR Legs." It's a problem with YOUR brain and inner ear. It's not the VR device itself. You just need to "train" yourself. I personally have never gotten sick doing all sorts of things in VR. It's very individual.

Take a look at the bobovr M3 headstrap with battery. It makes it feel much better in comfort. Plus extra battery life.

The problem is that Meta did not get developers involved before the launch of the headset. We have seen older games getting the enhancements. It will not be long before we see a real game changer.

The drop in the passthrouThe drop in passthrough quality in Meta Quest 3 is difficult to avoid. The headset captures images using right and left cameras, but the camera sensor is flat. In virtual reality (VR), we want to see everything within a visual dome. To achieve this, the images need to be stitched together into a partial photo-sphere. If this stitching process is not performed, we would experience doubling (repeated imagery). Therefore, the system must reduce the quality and perform this stitching in real time. Even when Samsung and Google generate photo-spheres on their servers, there can still be some warping and alignment issues even they spent several minutes to generate them in a quality that is under 2K

So it is pretty amazing and it may improve with software updates and maybe AI.

It does seem expensive, but it has been revealed that the components and assembly cost $430 before tax and shipping. They sell it for $499 including tax and shipping. So Meta appear to only make money on the games.
Compare that to the upcoming Apple Vision Pro. Components and assembly cost $1700 and they will sell it for $3500! It will be a beast of a device, but that is a lot of added Apple tax!

Got three of them at work .
ALL have batteries that last different Maximum lengths, 1 hour 30 mins, 1 h 45 mins & 2 hs after the one single charge . We have welcomed the new update that reduces stress on the battery life to improve performance then apps can be adjusted internally for further improvements . They DO get very hot though . No success with external battery packs as yet as they drain very quickly . Still too heavy for working all day in one tbh . Getting there but not quite yet ( sign ) . Passthrough is still not as good as it could be although it's much better than the Quest 2's or Pro's version . For the Price £470 no thrills or add ons basic set up, it's a winner 🎉 for a first time buyer, for a home business or productivity set up, not there yet 😢 . The Next gen with Nail it im sure 😂 .
