Fun fact, you do not have to accept the insurance offer for a car that the insurance has deemed a total loss, and you do not have to pay money to buy back the car from the insurance, if you do not accept the money from the insurance for totaling it.

Happened to me with a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Insurance wanted to total it, I told them to pound sand, they didnt take my Jeep, and I fixed it on my own

Totalled...I doubt it, luckily both rear quarter panels aren't damaged at all. Just replace the trunk & taillights from the pull yard. But I understand that insurance goes by the price of parts and labor it would take to fix it, compared to the average used price at that time.

in my experience it's the SUV drivers are the worst. i genuinely couldn't tell you the last time i saw an SUV driver use a turn signal. those people either dont care or are blissfully unaware of their surroundings

I drive a 5th gen GTO. The car is so rare and parts are so hard to find, that its actually cheaper to buy carbon fiber body panels than buying originals in new condition. I am constantly terrified to get in an accident with it because insurance will never give me enough money to fix it. And if the accident damages my engine, im extra screwed because the top end is 100% rebuilt with performance parts.
