Android 12 as a whole is a freaking downgrade. dont do it peeps. google fucks you over

Android keeps getting worse... I updated from 10 to 11 recently (I'm using Google Fi and I guess they don't push updates in a timely manner) and I'm pissed because every major update usually f..ks up my existing apps, some of which are from all the way back in Android 1.5. The update to 11 completely removed the Android Files app from my home screen/app drawer.

I think Android 9 was/is the best version of Android. Android 10 completely nuked the soft menu button meaning legacy apps no longer have that option, which is critical for some of them as most of them don't have another way to access the app menu without hooking up an external keyboard. That's insane. Since then they've seemingly been doing more to remove features and freedoms in the name of security or something.

The worst part is Google thinks Android should look and act exactly like IOS and they're going to end up p.ssing off so many users because that's exactly why we DON'T want Iphones. We don't like IOS. We don't like being locked into the same themes. We don't like not being able to customize our phone. I just don't understand why just keep removing options. There's no reason to not give your users options.

Most idiotically designed ver of Android. That white screen is awful. Needless extra taps just to get to a function, even when there's so much space available on one screen.

Two buttons need to be depressed in order to take a screenshot is ridiculous, why did that break that??!!?! And they also took the Screenshot option off the Long Power Button I take screenshots all the time and this was such a bad backward step for me. Thanks

Under 'Basic Colors' we should be able to choose a custom colour. Also really hate the new Internet quick settings. Give us back the Wifi button to simply activate / deactivate wifi.

Andoid 12 sucks. Not a single change I've found has been an improvement. It's the ugliest one yet, the quick settings tiles are awful (I have bad eyesight so I have to use larger fonts which causes all the tiles to be animated and the text scrolls which makes me dizzy when trying to use them). The clock is awful and when you switch it from that awful stacked HUGE numbers it moves to the upper corner instead of being centered. What kind of drugs are the developers on? No one asked for these awful changes.

Good video. Informative. I mostly agree with everything said. Is it only me, I have a Samsung 20 Ultra which I upgraded and my battery is depleting much faster now with the upgrade. Please tell me if someone else has noticed this. It's important for me to know. Thanks

In Android 12, after highlighting the text, the submenu does not open - copy, select, share, cut, etc.
This is a SERIOUS mistake.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Also thanks for sharing the comments with regards to android 11 in comparison to android 12. I own the budget galaxy a12. Every time I restart my phone I get a notification to update my phone for the new software. I remember starting to update a couple of months ago but then decidng to pause the update until I had done more research. Finally I managed to find your consise video discussing the good and bad for android 12.
After watching your video I wasn't sure if I still had the old stock version of the software. I was a little concerned that run the old version until it gave me any issues and have to resort to version 12 update later.
However I had forgot that I updated my phone in March 2022.
Fortunately while checking I realised that I have got version 11

December 2022, I decided to start targeting Android 12 for my app. The the crashes started rolling in. Like 100 crashes daily. I thought my app was buggy and decided to do 3 more updates. Google did a shitty job with Android 12

idk if i did something wrong but my phone won't charge when it's turned off, , only charging when it's on. I'm so confused bc usually when it's broken it's the other way around and I'm very careful with my phone, so idk why this is happening
