How to replace a light switch face plate single switch.
How to change a light switch and save yourself some money.
This will take about 10-15 minutes and all you need is a flat bladed screwdriver with two bits, one medium and one small.
Light Switch replacement is a simple DIY job as long as you can turn the mains Power off.
It is absolutely imperative that the power is off, it's no good just having the light switch in the Off position as there will still be 110V or 240V at the wiring.
If you are in any doubt then get a qualified electrician (Sparky) to do this. This video tutorial is for guidance only and shows how to replace a light switch in the UK.

Have to admit to being a bit of a clot. Followed your simple demo, then proceeded to fit the plate upside down with COM at the bottom, meaning off was on and on was off. Anyway, red and black now where they should be and this clot has a correctly working new light switch. Thanks! And this from someone who successfully wired his first plug when he was 10 (a long long time ago) 😂
